Vermont Cannabis News – Going Up: How Upstate Elevator Supply Co. is Bringing CBD to the Mainstream

By now, you’ve probably heard of CBD. You might have even tried it for pain relief, better sleep, or managing stress and anxiety. If you’re one of the many people finding support from this all-natural supplement, this is your lucky day. Beginning this week, Upstate Elevator Supply Co., one of Vermont’s innovators of cannabidiol, will be accepting online orders for multiple forms of natural, non-GMO CBD.

A brainchild of the folks at Green State Gardener, Upstate is Vermont’s first commercial producer of CBD edibles. With the launch of their retail website, Upstate will be introducing a brand new line of full-spectrum CBD products ranging from their flagship 30mg and 50mg capsules to tinctures, vape cartridges, gummies and chocolate truffles.

It’s no secret that CBD has numerous therapeutic benefits for both physical and mental health. As a non-psychoactive cannabinoid, it can provide relief from seizures, nausea, and joint pain without the “high” one gets with from cannabis containing THC. Ever suffer from a bothersome headache that no amount of water or ibuprofen seems to fix? Maybe you have trouble falling asleep at night and counting sheep on Ambien isn’t quite cutting it. Does the day seem to be endless but your energy in short supply?

Upstate’s CBD line is built around the goal of helping people find balance and comfort in their day-to-day life, free of stress and anxiety.

“Through our experience selling CBD at Green State Gardener, we started to see patterns in our customers’ wellness stories,” Upstate’s Sales Manager Chris Walsh explained. “CBD creates a sense of optimism that’s not psychoactive but reflects a genuine return to homeostasis,” added Upstate CEO, Dylan Raap. “I’d say 90% of people that buy a CBD product at Green State become repeat buyers.”

In Vermont, there is a strong standard of agricultural excellence, and Upstate’s production methods and finished products fit right into this longstanding tradition. Much of the hemp used is grown in Vermont in partnership with Evergreen Capital Management and the Kria Group (

Currently, the organically grown, pesticide-free, non-GMO hemp used in Upstate’s product line is sourced from both Vermont and Colorado. With the local hemp and CBD industry in relative infancy here in Vermont, it’s a noteworthy and responsible precedent that Upstate is setting for commercial production.

Using a patented extraction and purification process more akin to alchemical transmutation than scientific extraction, Upstate is able to keep all of the terpenes and cannabinoids contained in the hemp intact, making the product “full spectrum.” “It’s no simple task to extract and concentrate CDB while keeping the cannabinoids intact and THC levels below the legal threshold of .3%,” Raap explained. “With our methodology, we’re not only able to do that with consistency, we’re also able to remove all traces of heavy metals and impurities.” There are no unwanted chemicals or heavy metals that are sometimes found in less pure extraction methods; this is imperative to the integrity of the medicine and overall wellness of the consumer.

What separates Upstate’s products from the rest of the local competition lies not just in the method of production or quality of their product, but also in the distribution to consumers. While most Vermont CBD producers distribute and market exclusively to Vermont, Upstate will be serving the entire country online with a focus on the New England area. The idea is to have Upstate CBD products not only available in specialty marketplaces but accessible in the mainstream as well. Imagine going to your retailer and getting your milk, bread, and CBD. Suddenly, it’s not alternative holistic medicine, but an understood and accepted aid to health and wellness — like sunblock or a multivitamin.

Current CBD customers range from children with seizure disorders to NFL football players, proving that the benefits of CBD are just beginning to enter the mainstream. “In a lot of ways, CBD is the tip of the spear in the reemergence of plant-based medicine,” mused Raap. “I expect to see a lot more ‘full spectrum’ approaches to natural medicine in the future.” Check out the Upstate Elevator Supply Co.’s retail website at, and stop into Green State Gardener at 388 Pine Street for the full line of products.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][adiva_blog_carousel orderby=”title” order=”DESC” total_items=”6″ number_of_rows=”1″ show_excerpt=”” items_space=”40″ items_desktop=”3″ items_small_desktop=”3″ items_tablet=”2″ items_mobile=”2″ items_small_mobile=”1″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
